How do you ensure a comfortable sound level for all guests?
We'll start the music and test it from different areas of the room to make sure it's not too loud up front or too quiet in the back. We'll turn it up or down if someone requests.
What typical attire do you wear?
All of our DJs wear a black dress shirt with black dress pants and a solid blue tie.
Do you take song request if so what is the process for that?
We do take song requests if the bride and groom are ok with it. We'll announce that we take music request and guests are welcome to come up to the DJ to make those requests.
Can you act as master of ceremonies?
Yes. There is a section on our planning form for the bridal party so we can announce their arrival if you choose and we'll make any announcements you'd like throughout the night (i.e. how dinner is being served, releasing tables to get their food, etc) and then we also will announce the first dance, father/daughter dance, etc.
What is your sick day policy? Do you have a back up DJ available?
Thankfully we haven't had anyone get sick the day of an event but that doesn't mean it won't happen. We will have a back up DJ available that can fill in if your assigned DJ can't make it for whatever reason.
If the equipment malfunctions what would the backup plan be? For most local weddings, our DJs will just have a back up laptop. Any events more than 90 minutes from our location will also have an extra speaker. Someone will be on call to bring our replacement equipment if needed. All of our equipment is less than 3 years old and we invest in high quality equipment to help eliminate as many issues as possible. We also arrive 2 hours in advance to start setting up and test everything.
Do the bride & groom or venue need to provide anything specific?
We request a 10' x 10' area to set up our equipment along with access to a standard electrical outlet. We will provide our own banquet table and table skirt.
How do you, as a DJ, motivate a shy crowd to dance?
We'll change up the genre if we notice the crowd isn't dancing to certain music. Typically we start playing oldies and classic wedding songs that everyone knows and likes and work our way up to newer music as the night goes on as the younger crowd sticks around the longest. We can also get on the mic and encourage them to come out and dance. It's up to you how involved the DJ is with the crowd because everyone has different preferences.
What are some of your favorite wedding songs to play?
Mambo 5, Old Time Rock n Roll, Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy, Red Solo Cup, Party Rock, Yeah!, I Got a Feeling, Shout, Chicken Dance, Cotton Eyed Joe for example. These are all wedding songs that pretty much every crowd will enjoy.
What is your song selection process style?
On our planning form you can select which genres you prefer and select around 15 songs that we must play. Based off that information we'll go through and select songs additional songs. We also make sure to include other genres as well to keep everyone happy. We come with a good playlist started and will add and remove songs throughout the night to keep up with what the crowd likes.
Could you provide references I could contact?
Yes, references are available upon request.
What would the payment plan be?
We request 25% of the total to book with us and hold your date. The remaining balance is due 1 week prior to the date of your event. We accept cash, check or credit card.
